THE MET
NEW YORK CITY
Award-winning director Akash Shukla was commissioned by a private cultural foundation to create a visual narrative exploring the museum's interior and it's 5,000 years of art. The series was used at a private event celebrating monumental architecture and art as well as its preservation through film and media.

The project was completed over two days during 2021 as the world, and the institution, re-emerged from a global shutdown.

Shot on the Sony FX3 and Blackmagic Design Pocket Cinema cameras.

The brief was to develop a visual essay that felt voyeuristic and yet, deeply personal.

Production was handled by a small-footprint team to ensure agility and silence within the galleries, led by Shukla.
