Chatbot Development

Before ChatGPT

As we write this, the world has become quite different than what it was back when we worked on this project.

Back then, ChatGPT wasn’t a thing and the word “chatbot” evoked an image of old software, limited by technology of the yesteryear. But Master of Code has been revolutionizing the world of conversational AI with its enterprise-grade solutions.

So, how can they convey the inherent purpose and advanced capabilities of their chatbots while navigating the negative connotations of the very word?

About the Company

Master of Code Global is a software development company providing AI-powered conversational solutions to leading companies around the world, including being the official partner of Microsoft and AWS.

Founded in 2004, MOCG has grown to 6 offices around the world and a team 250 strong. Today, the company specializes in building enterprise-ready chat and voice solutions.MOCG is a major advocate for sharing knowledge through content and already had hundreds of posts on their Medium publication when our partnership began.

Their challenge, however, lied in translating their raw expertise in conversational AI into content that non-tech decision-makers could understand.

The Challenge

The focus for Master of Code Global was, for almost two years, outbound marketing. The strategy worked well enough to secure contracts from billion-dollar companies.

However, an inherent challenge Master of Code faced was fighting the negative connotations surrounding the word “chatbot”. The company wants to change how people feel about the word and they had to start from the ground up.

Content marketing was the obvious candidate for this project. The company was already actively publishing content on their Medium page but 95% of that content was technical in nature, written by the company’s engineers and developers.

The goal was to make conversational AI look easier to understand, more approachable, and viable for businesses of all sizes.

Primary
Deliverables

The ultimate goal of this partnership was to raise awareness about the capabilities of AI-powered chatbots and to do so with concrete evidence. The best way to do this was to highlight the success of real-world implementations of conversational AI.

Over the course of our engagement, we created a collection of informative, long-form articles. All articles were part of a handful of campaigns including Google RCS, Business Process Automation, Voice Assistants, and for industries such as eCommerce and Finance.

These articles would cross-posted to Medium for additional exposure and referral traffic to the website.

Voice Assistants

As part of our content marketing efforts, we explored the use of voice assistants and their increasing value in the modern workplace.

Articles focused on long-form resources such as statistics as well as short case studies on successful implementations of voice assistants in the workplace.

Business Process Automation

Master of Code Global has an impressive portfolio in the finance, airline, and eCommerce industry. The marketing department wanted to leverage this strength and create content targeting these industries.

Google RCS

One of the first full marketing campaign campaigns we worked on focused on Google RCS. The campaign ran in 2019 and we delivered long-form articles discussing the technology and its implementations across various industries.

Targeting Key Industries

Business Process Automation (BPA) and artificial intelligence go hand-in-hand when it comes to business use cases. Unsurprisingly, a lot of Master of Code’s expertise in conversational AI translated to real-world application of BPA.

To drive awareness about this area of service, we ran a content marketing campaign focused on BPA.

Until Next Time

We worked directly with Master of Code’s Ukraine office and when our contract ended at the beginning of 2022, we had a lot of plans for the future, including numerous use case studies and an eBook that we were excited about.

Unfortunately, we understood that our work together would stop, at the very least, for some time. As a business, it’s in our interest to keep politics and work separate but keeping quiet here goes directly against our principles.

Our friends and colleagues at MOCG were significantly affected (along with millions of others) by the unprovoked war on Ukraine and while it’s not much, we want to make it clear that Ukrainians have our full support. We wish safety and stability for everyone and their families in Ukraine.
